Flipped Classroom

This is a short lecture by Russell Stannard that looks at both the theory behind the Flipped Classroom but also focuses on some of the most useful tools that we can use to flip our learning. Russell focuses on Bloom's Taxonomy and shows how the Flipped Classroom might lead to better use of teacher's time so that the students are with the teacher when they are focusing on the higher order thinking skills. In part two Russell looks at two key teacher technologies that we can use with your students to flip our classes. The key is to have one central place where the students can access all the learning content in an organised way, making it easy to find and use. Russell also suggests that teachers need to be able to create learning content simply and quickly. Most Flipped Classrooms will include a lot of content that is found on the internet but there teachers will also want to make their own content and Russell will highlight one key tool that we can use. After watching this lecture, it is a good idea to watch the videos on Flipping your Classroom with SnagIt-Key Educational Technology Tool.
